Tour de Cure  2023

Enjoying a rest break at one of the pit-stops

Thank you for supporting me!

Your donation is going to help in much needed cancer research.  It also allowed me to do the 2-day ride this year with my fractured rib! The first day of 110km went well, other than my brother's tire blowing up at the 2nd pitstop, which silenced everyone there! The second day started well until we heard the ride would end at lunch due to the smoke.  It was a mixed blessing; I was looking forward to coming through the finish and seeing my daughter at the end. On the other hand, I was absolutely exhausted!  A great two days with the 60+ Brainacs and 1500 riders overall this year, including a new Brainaic, my brother-in-law Rob. Brainiacs were 4th in team fundraising totals.

Carlo Bautista Dancel.
May 11, 1987 - Nov 9, 2023

In the face of a life-threatening disease like cancer, the ‘will to live’ compels us to stand & fight. Carlo's determination to stand and press forward at this year's starting line was a source of inspiration for hundreds. Even though we've lost this remarkable individual, the resolve he instilled in us to keep fighting remains steadfast.
