Artist bio
Narrative nonfiction writer with experience in scientific articles, personal essays, short stories, media features, public readings, and scientific lectures. As a cancer genomics researcher and long-term brain cancer survivor, Yaron brings a rare perspective that bridges science and personal story and is currently completing a memoir of his incredible experience, Catching the Light. His goal is to benefit the cancer community as a whole, offering hope and encouragement to those dealing with such a devastating situation. Yaron has made a significant impact in the genomics world over the last two decades and has often been profiled in the media. Yaron's story is powerful, being a very rare survivor of over 20 years, where the prognosis is 13-15 months for his cancer, glioblastoma. As a researcher, he has a unique perspective on the cancer experience. He enjoys the writing process all along the way from an idea to a publication. Other than his memoir, he has several other writing projects on the go. |
